Assam Police Apprehend Notorious Poacher, Recover Firearms

In a joint operation, Assam's Nagaon Police, along with Sonitpur Police, arrested a notorious poacher, Rafik Ali, wanted in multiple criminal cases. Acting on intelligence, the police tracked Ali, a resident of Jaramari village, Nagaon, currently living in Muslim Chapori, Sonitpur.
During interrogation, Ali revealed the location of hidden firearms. A search operation led by the Assistant Superintendent of Police (Crime) resulted in the recovery of a 12-bore SBBL rifle, four live rounds, and two empty cartridges from a paddy field.
The seized weapons have been taken into custody as per legal procedures, and further investigations are ongoing.
